Canada’s longest-running commercial fisheries event, the Eastern Canadian Fisheries Exposition (ECFX), presented by Master Promotions and The Navigator Magazine, is making its biennial return to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
On January 17–18, 2025, the ECFX will draw visitors from across Atlantic Canada, the country as a whole and the eastern United States to Yarmouth’s Mariners Centre. Visitors over the past three decades of the show’s history include fish harvesters, fish processors, those involved in the workboat industry, search and rescue organizations and other professions relating to the marine industries.
Shawn Murphy, ECFX Show Manager, said that guests will have an opportunity to see the newest products and services available in the fishing industry.
“The show will be filled wall to wall with booths from over 125 companies,” said Murphy. “With so many professionals in one place, this event is always the prime time to catch up on the progress that’s been made on the water over the past two years.”
Also included in the 2025 ECFX is the return of the Atlantic Canada Marine Industries Hall of Fame, which will celebrate the achievements of three worthy individuals in the marine industry in the categories of Mariner, Processor and Builder. The mariner category recognizes the achievements of anyone who works or has worked on the water, the processor category highlights the accomplishments of anyone involved in the business of processing — from line workers to company owners — while the builder category celebrates those who have made contributions to the marine industry without directly participating in it, such as advocates, organizers or boat builders.
