Halifax, N.S. — SEVAEN (pronounced Sa-Vay-In) is coming to the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom through a partnership with Swan Net-Gundry.

Swan Net-Gundry has agreed to distribute the SEVAEN product line in its stores and dealer network, allowing the Nova Scotia-based manufacturer of marine outerwear to bring its innovative products to a new market.

“Swan Net-Gundry brings with it one of the largest commercial marine dealer networks in the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom,” says Clinton Desveaux, director of Marketing and Global Sales for Climate Technical Gear. “This is a relationship SEVAEN plans to build and strengthen over the coming years.”

Desveaux says the search for a partner to help the company access the Irish and U.K. markets began after a recent visit to the Galway International Skipper Expo.

“When I visited the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom during the tradeshow in February, it became abundantly clear our innovative SEVAEN product line would be very popular in the various marine industries, from fishing to shipping,” Desveaux says.

Swan Net-Gundry agreed. The designer and manufacturer of midwater trawls and bottom trawls saw an immediate fit between its offerings and those of SEVAEN.

“Having met Clinton, we realized this was an innovative new product from SEVAEN that we know will fit well in our range of waterproof clothing for fishermen and marine workers,” Swan Net-Gundry says in a press release.

Swan Net-Gundry’s markets include Ireland, Scotland, England, Shetland, the U.S. East Coast, the U.S. Alaska fleet and Chile in South America. It also delivers to customers in Newfoundland, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Guatemala, Denmark, Norway, Iceland and Argentina. Headquartered in Killybegs, the company has service depots in Shetland, Fraserburgh, Rossaveal, Castletownbere and Skibbereen, at Gloucester, Mass., U.S.A. and an agency in Chile.

SEVAEN is a second generation, 35-year-old family-run business that engineers, designs, manufactures, tests and builds commercial marine workwear in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Climate Technical Gear has a full distributor and dealer network in Canada, the United States and now the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom.
